MInimalistHigh-Quality (160kbps) Download from site Song Info Genre: Minimal Time: 2:26 Description: This track was somewhat inspired by Terry Riley's minimalist "In C", in which one note is featured prominently. This piece does have more than one note, but it focuses more on the tonal quality and ambience of the music rather than the actual notes. As a result, it has a very pure sound, and a somewhat hanuting and intriguing ambience. This piece was created using a custom preset that I designed for Garageband's Digital instrument, with a very interesting envelope. It's normally a chime sound, but when it's hit repeatedly on the keyboard, it creates an interesting sort of modulated sound. As you might imagine, this piece is performed live, and to create the effect, I'm slamming my fingers on the keyboard over and over for each series of notes, which gives it just enough of the random modulation to keep it interesting, while at the same time reaching over to hit the mod wheel every so often... If this is an interesting piece to listen to, it was even more fun to play :) The production info on this one is pretty basic - just me playing sound into the Digital Basic sound module, with a small bit of post-processing and sequencing in Logic. |
