Description: This one's an interesting techno piece. Basically, I was teaching myself how to use Ultrabeat to lay down synthesized drum tracks, and this piece greadually built out of a drum/bassline that I created. It was quite a lot of fun putting this together, and I spend a good deal of time tweaking it until it sounded just right to me. The result is a fairly hard-hitting techno track, which kicks a good beat but also manages to stay reasonably melodic and eminently listenable. In my estimation, it's one of my most professional-sounding productions so far.

The unusual lead sound is created by layering a patch from ReFX Slayer 2 with one from the Logic ensemble synth, in different chord combinations. Logic's FM synth also sees some use in the second part of the piece, using a variation of a patch that I created to mimic the sound of the russian radar jamming used on Voice of America (don't worry, it sounds much better in the song!). As usual, Vanguard shows up a few times, with a customized bassline patch and a modified synth patch for the bright sound in the second part. The early strings are Logic EXS24, massaged a bit with Space Designer. The song also integrates various loops and sound FX in parts.
